EVO 3D Set For Summer Release

HTC Evo 3dGood 3D cameras have been a little hard to come by, which is the primary reason I have been so interested in the upcoming EVO 3d by HTC, set to be released this summer as a 4G mobile phone on the Sprint Network “this summer.”  The rear side of the camera features dual 5mp cameras that can take both 3d stills and 3d video.  The 3d images will be able to be exported at MPO files, which should be easily viewable on your 3D monitor, whether you are using the kind active or passive glasses technology.  The video will be able to export to YouTube’s 3d video format, which will also be viewable on whatever type of 3d monitor you happen to have.

Viewing the pictures and videos on the phone itself will be even easier, as the phone sports a 4.3 inch “glasses-less” qhd display, much like the one on the Nintendo 3DS.  But unless the 3D effect is vastly improved over the one on the Nintendo 3DS, I believe I will be more happy to export the files over to view on my 24 inch 3D monitor, where I will be able to seem them in their full glory.

The phone also features a dual-core 1.2 ghz Snap Dragon processor, 1 GB of RAM, 1080p video output, a 1.3 mp front facing camera for video chat, and it connects to the 4G WiMax network, making it one of the fastest and most feature packed phones that will be available this year.  HTC is said to be releasing it with a “3D enhanced” version of their HTC Sense Android overlay, which should make the whole phone operating system appear 3D.

Pricing details and exact release date have not yet been released.  Look for it to hit Sprint stores some time this summer.
